Leaving DC: Bye-Bye

It gives me a bad feeling, leaving. But a good feeling going. I will still have my blog. And I'm sure you will love visiting Maine. I am leaving around 6am, and will be in Maine Thursday night. I have a stupid big heart that will miss you all, no matter how much you don't deserve it. (I am so good and kind.)

Leaving DC: Hanging in the Neighborhood

I walked around with Jenn. We went to a yard sale. She went to get food for her and Jeremy at Dos Gringos. I got upset about something I had to explain to her. She said it was because I was 7 years older than her, so I should expect to have to explain things from time to time. She said this while she was playing with toys at the counter of Dos Gringos. Later on Casey called me. We went to Marx Cafe. I drank a couple of Chimays on his tab. He told me one of the reason I wasn't successful at meeting women was because I am always wearing shirts from Nelly's, a local gay sports bar. I explained, "Hey, they're good quality shirts. And I got them for free from Jenn's landlord." Plus, I never thought Nelly's actually opened. I thought it was just a proposed gay bar that was still in the process of being built. Well, I'm off to Maine soon. My Nelly's shirts won't matter there. (They are awesome quality!)

Leaving DC: Demon House Cook Out

The Demon House had a cook out yesterday. It was a reminder of the days of yore. (And the hamburgers were awesome.) It was nice to get outside. I am still packing up my apartment, slowly.

Leaving DC: Housecooling

Some people convinced me to have a housecooling party at the Black Cat instead of my box-filled, half-packed apartment. To those people I say, "Thank You." Ruben's band Kitty Hawk was playing, it seemed perfect.

Leaving DC: Last Swing's Visit

I went down to M.E. Swing's Coffee today for what might have been my last visit while a resident of Washington, D.C. I saw Lauraine and Fatima, the longest working and best working employees, respectively.

Leaving DC: Nothing for Free

Yesterday many people came to visit, no one took anything from the free pile I have building up at the room's edge. Rachel took one of my umbrellas. Hatnim left her umbrella. I'm back at square one.

Leaving DC: 1 Week Left

I won't be able to walk to Whole Foods and see people sitting outside. I won't be able to stop at Transformer Gallery anymore.

Leaving DC: 05

I went for a run through Rock Creek and down Massachusetts Ave this morning. I had to walk almost half of the way back. I felt like running, but my lungs hurt. When I got back I heard on the radio is was the worst day yet this year for air pollution. (Can't wait to run in Maine.) Also, I decided it would be a good idea to have a housecooling party, since I never had a housewarming. It will take place around 8pm on Friday. I hope you can make it. If you can't I don't care too much. I have no air-conditioning or beer. But unlike today's heat index of 110 degrees, it's supposed to be in the 70s. And they sell beer across the street, and all up and down the street.

Leaving DC: 04

I went to a local bar The Raven Grill to meet some friends before I leave DC. I am beginning to realize how much I will miss them and this stinking city. However, I am looking forward to living in Augusta, ME., and having visitors. I think this time my heart may actually be broken. Good thing for all that clean air and water up in Maine to get me healthy again! Yes! I can't wait to miss this place!

Leaving DC: 03

Over breakfast at Heller's Bakery this morning Casey and Jabari decided it would be best for me to leave for Augusta, Maine by the Ides of August. (Then Jabari got on a bus to New York City.) If anyone is looking for an awesome apartment to rent by the 15th, I can help you out. My current apartment is in the coolest location, Mt Pleasant, and in an awesome building, The Park Regent. The rent is the best for the area. Plus it's a historic building, and a historic apartment- I lived there.
