I saw these Fourth District Metropolitan Police officers trial testing some new equipment near 17th St NW. The cops said that using the Segways would give those who walk the beat higher visibility. The commander commented that they are easier on the feet but are probably not an alternative to pursuing a subject on foot.
I had an interesting shoot at the Rayburn Office Building a couple days ago. It was a farewell party for former Congressman Charlie Wilson. Wilson's story's author George Crile (of CNN) was there and had several autographed copies of his newly released New York Times Bestselling book "Charlie Wilson's War."
