Exhibit Jan. 14 - Feb. 12
Opening Party: Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 2pm-8pm
I was a U.S. Marine in Kandahar, Afghanistan 10 years ago at this same time. I was a sergeant with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit that was deployed immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The 15th and 26th Marine Expeditionary Units were in Afghanistan from November 2001 to February 2002, and made up a major part of the Coalition's initial assault force.
It is hard for me to believe that Coalition Forces are still there today, a never-ending war that no one is winning. Like the war, that
has waged for over 10 years now, the camera equipment I used is also 10 years old now. A Nikon D1 2.7 megapixel DSLR camera created all of these photos, it will be apparent in the over-sized prints. It will add timeliness to a subject that has become timeless over the past decade.
I hope you find aesthetic and documentary value; I hope you find beauty in the photos but overall I hope you find an awareness of the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.
Join me at the opening which is also my first solo exhibition.

Pepper Spray Obama
This is my current feeling about Obama: Bush betrayed America's trust and destroyed our last bit of decency. But at least we could still say we had freedom and our voice -- until recently. With his silence and inaction Obama is betraying Americans, too. How could you do this to us?! I am embarrassed to associate the word "freedom" with my country.
