Maggie is leaving for Cornell, hundreds of miles away. We broke up for the second time in six months yesterday. Such a beautiful little flower. Our relationship is unfinished, like this drawing of her.
The public pool is closed on tuesdays. I know that now. But thanks to Noel I got to used the roof-top pool at her apartment building. Jenn did too. Then came the storm.
Made some mango & banana smoothies yesterday before Maggie's sister Katie left for New York. We started making them at my house, then my new blender (bought at CVS) broke so we had to transfer the contents via igloo thermos (a better and older purchase from CVS) to Maggie's house.
After I took my blender back to CVS this morning, I called up some friends to get some food at Pollo Sabroso. It was good to see Andy McMillian. Unfortunately he might be moving up to D.C. from Charlotte soon, then we'll have to see him all the time.
I went to the Gay Pride Parade w/ some friends. They thought it would be a good place to pick up girls. I didn't, and I explained why using my "If-you-go-to-a-Swedish-restaurant-you-don't-order-Hawaiian-food" analogy. I was right. But as Rob said, "I love me a parade!"
Meat Market Gallery is currently holding a silent auction to raise money for Performance Week. I caught the opening on the walk back from the public pool. Some of the pieces are starting their bids so cheap I was able to think about bidding. And then decided I would stick w/ the free beer. I even made a commercial for National Bohemian!
It was the first game any of us had attended this year. For a couple, their first Major League Baseball game ever. Pre-gaming, trying to get people to go, listening to the first couple innings on the cab ride there, meeting our friends at the ticket gate, and screaming blood- that lead the National to defeat the Pirates 6-5 in 10, I mean 9 innings. "I smell chipped ham, oh, it's just a bunch of Yunzers!"
