Great Day for Landscaping

It was a great 80-degree day for landscaping on yesterday. I worked w/ my friend and fellow landscaper Chris pruning, clipping and weeding all day. (I love the smell of the dirt.) He was irritated b/c of the heat (wuss). I was irritated b/c I was hungry (another wuss). We work well together.

Moving Weekend

My weekend was full of friends (and strangers) consoling me for my loss of Maggie. She got accepted to grad school at Cornell last weekend. I am so happy for her (and proud of her). Some Irish girls walked by Demon House before I moved out, and I told them the story of "Maggie the Tree." How the city came and planted a tree for us when we broke up. Maggie's sister Katie came to visit for the weekend. It was fun hanging out with them. Wooo! I live in Mt Pleasant again!

Demon Porch Sympathy

My friends came over to listen to me cry about losing Maggie. As I described to Andrew Bain earlier in the day, "It's not so hard walking North up New Hampshire Ave." I used to walk Maggie to work there, but South. It's just that my heart has bled all over the sidewalk. And that, is stained in my memory. I feel really sad and Irish lately, getting back to my roots. I suppose. (Beer anyone?)

From St. Patrick's Til Now

Reasons (or not) for infrequent posts: 1)My laptop is getting fixed. 2)I've been using a digital point-and-shoot that I am trading for some photos. 3)My preoccupation with Maggie (cooking, walking, walking), which she ended today.
