Sub-Meeting at Sophie's

There was a sub-meeting of the D'Steel(e) Society at Sophie's apartment last night. The only three there were me, Sophie, and her dead pet fish (or dying, it's 3 years old living in a bowl of water. Anything would be dying.). But, we decided to move the date of our actual D'Steel(e) meeting forward a couple days to have more time for planning.

Caution Parts On Order

The elevator at the Newport West. (Also, I compiled my "Coffee Hut" pictures into a photo essay on the second screen on my photo portfolio.)

Game Master

Dear Game Master,
Thank you for the ping-pong table. We love it. Now we have a new reason (aside from totally serious discussions, and practicing hand-to-hand combat) to hang out in the Demon Lounge.
Sincerely,

Eugene International Airport

Eugene: their airport is as unique as their people.

Driveway Coffee: Junction City, Ore.

Before catching a 530am flight out of Eugene my sister drove me to Junction City to photo some last drive-up coffee huts before heading back to the East Coast. Only one was opened. Up before the coffee.

Next Generation Piano Lessons

My sister used to pay for my piano lessons when I was very young. I didn't like practising and eventually quit. My nephew plays a lot better than I can, or have.

Driveway Coffee: Eugene, Ore. II

More coffee huts of Eugene. A woman at the one attached to Home Depot told me they call them "drive-ups." Coffee "hut" is a slanderous term here. Her establishment actually doesn't fit the classification of "drive-up" because it lacks the drive-up window. But she does have seating, and serves breakfast too.

Pickup Line?

My sister spotted this sign in the window of a pickup truck pulling into one of the many, many local Goodwill Stores in Eugene. Also, you can return items at the Goodwill stores here!

Driveway Coffee: Eugene, Ore.

I think I've found my calling, drive-thru coffee huts. They are all over the place in Eugene. The people don't even think of them as an oddity. I talked to the owner of the bright yellow Gorilla Coffee Club and he said the huts have been around Eugene for 20 years or more. Dutch Bros. has a hold on the francise here, with FastLane Coffee in a far second place. Most of the huts are independent. (Roomies, could you park out of the driveway when I get home?)
