Empire Falls
The HBO miniseries "Empire Falls" was actually Skowhegan and Waterville, and some other surrounding communities of Maine. Because Paul Newman died I went to photograph the now famous Empire Grill.
Caption:
Betty Anne Hofmann and Diane Engler, both of Skowhegan, exit the Empire Grill which was made famous by the filming of the HBO miniseries "Empire Falls." Hofmann's son Greg worked in wardrobe for the movie. "In fact, I had Helen Hunt's sneakers for a while. They didn't fit her," said Hofmann. "I wore them out."

Les Petits Chanteurs
I shot a Haitian music program at the University of Maine at Farmington.
Caption:
Conductor Jean Bernard Desinat, of the well-known Haitian choir Les Petits Chanteurs, directs as the choir sings a selection of music based on traditional Haitian songs. The choir played in a program along with The Holy Trinity Music School Chamber Ensemble of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Friday night at the Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington.

Local Coaches
Surprisingly to me, one of my favorite assignments is shooting high school football. Here is a shot for a feature story on local Messalonskee High School's coaching staff.

Messalonskee High School football's head coach Wes Littlefield, and defensive coordinator Pete Bolduc have a word with the team during a recent practice in Oakland.

Grain Truck Rollover on I-95
Rollovers are common, but not so much on bridges. This driver was lucky.

The high schools competing were South Portland, Westbrook, Biddeford, Marshwood, Old Orchard Beach, Little Edward, and Lawrence. Bob In Lounge, 2008
Went to the Bob In Lounge. At the end of the bar there was a guy wearing Lennon glasses in a leather jacket, a fedora, and a Playboy bunny tie. Classic.

Tricia the Dog
Here is a picture I took yesterday on my way to the Common Ground Country Fair. I love border collies. They are my favorite breed.
Caption:
Tricia the border collie waits in the cab of her owners' tractor Friday afternoon in Fairfield. In the background Wayne and his uncle Lee Hapworth both of Winslow, wait in the hayfield for a belt to be delivered for their round bailer. Wayne said it has been difficult to put up hay this year due to too much rain. "But we should have a nice fall this year because of the rain," he said. The forecast says the next chance of rain this week will be Saturday night.

2nd Annual Hill 'n the Ville
"Sacrifice Him!"
A bunch of bands played at a free concert in Waterville, Maine. People slow moshed (don't know how else to describe a mosh pit with hippies, too) and crowd surfed to the Boston band State Radio.

Colby Museum of Art
I live within walking distance to Colby College Museum.
I saw pigeons on the walk home from the museum.
The pigeons followed me home.
